What is handmade soap?
A true handmade soap is created by saponification process. In technical terms, saponification involves base hydrolysis of triglycerides (oil), which are esters of fatty acids, to form the sodium salt of a carboxylate. For good quality handmade soaps, the manufacturing process could take more than a month.
Are transparent soaps natural?
Transparent soaps or hot process soaps, are not necessary natural. Often they contain chemical foaming agents, alcohol, sugar, coloring and fragrances. Artificial coloring are added to make it look more attractive compared to its normal state. Known as "Melt and Pour" soaps, these soaps are very easy for the hobbyist to work with. They are easily manufactured and low in cost.
What ingredients are used in your soaps?
Our soaps are handcrafted using a combination of vegetable oil such olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, soybean, etc. They contain herbs, spices, botanicals and essential oil. They do not contain fillers, preservatives, fragrances and coloring.
What are fillers in soaps?
Fillers are chemical additives commonly added to synthetic soaps to harden them. In addition, it increases soap weight and reduces the overall cost.
What are the differences between handmade soap and commercial soap?
Commercial soaps contain chemical additives to enhance moisturizing effects. However, natural handmade soap bars retain all the goodness such as glycerin and unsaponified oils to moisturize your skin naturally. True handmade soaps are made with only natural ingredients. However, commercial soaps are in fact detergents (syndets or synthetic detergents), chemical compounds from petroleum industry. This is the explanation why typical soaps lead to skin irritation.
What is the difference between your soaps and others?
Every soapmaker have their own signatures. Professional soapmakers understand the saponification process, usually they possess a chemical degree. In short, they KNOW what they are doing. We have the knowledge and 20 year experience in making handmade soaps. We observe good manufacturing practice and abide by the regulatory requirements. Our soaps are manufactured in a proper manufacturing environment. Our soaps are carefully monitored during the saponification process. They are carefully handcrafted to ensure high quality.
Our soaps do not contain artificial coloring, fragrances, fillers and preservatives. It is the truest form of natural handmade soap. Most soapmakers are home based producers. They use kitchen wares and often making their soaps in the kitchen! This is NOT a proper practice. Hygiene and safety is fundamental in manufacturing. Often they are just enthusiasts and making soaps as a hobby.
